미국 주도의 이라크 침공 3주년을 앞두고 영국의 런던을 비롯한 일본, 호주 등 세계 곳곳에서 반전시위가 벌어졌습니다. 18일 런던에서는 수천명의 시위대가 도심의 한 광장에서 반전구호를 외치면서 시위를 벌였습니다.
일부 시위자들은 부쉬 대통령이 세계 제일의 테러리스트라고 쓴 포스터를 들고 있었으며, 또 다른 시위자들은 토니 블레어 영국 총리를 몰아내자고 촉구했습니다. 영국은 미국 다음으로 이라크에 많은 군대를 파병한 국가입니다.
반전시위 주최측은 앞으로 3일간 계속될 반전시위는 이라크전쟁에 반대하는 [전세계 행동의 날] 행사들중 일부라고 말했습니다. 한국, 파키스탄, 터키, 그리스등지에서도 반전시위 소식이 전해졌습니다.
시위 조직원들은 18일 하룻동안 세계 200여개 지역에서 반전시위가 벌어질 것으로 예상한다고 밝혔습니다.

Thousands of anti-war protesters have marched in London joining protests in Japan, Australia and elsewhere in the world ahead of the third anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
In London, thousands gathered in a square in the city's center today (Saturday), chanting anti-war slogans. Some carried posters called President Bush the "world's number one terrorist." Others posters called for the ouster of British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Britain has the second most troops in Iraq behind the United States. Organizers say demonstrations over the next three days are part of what they call "global days of action" protesting the war.
Protests were also reported in South Korea, Pakistan, Turkey and Greece. Organizers say they expect more than 200 protests worldwide today.
