이라크에서 국회의원 선거가 치뤄진 지 석달 만인, 16일, 과도정부를 대체하기위한 이라크 새 의회가 바그다드에서 첫 회의를 열었습니다.
그러나 이날 회의는, 국회의장과 새 총리 등 새 정부 주요 요직에 관한 정당들간의 의견차이가 좁혀지지 못함에 따라, 회의가 시작된 지 채 한시간도 되지않아 휴회에 들어갔습니다.

Three months after landmark elections, Iraq's new parliament has been sworn in, with members still deadlocked over the formation of a new government. The long-delayed inaugural session of the legislature lasted less than an hour today (Thursday) before members adjourned.
Lawmakers have yet to agree on the key posts of speaker and prime minister, and there is no sign of progress in talks aimed at breaking the impasse. Baghdad's streets were largely deserted before the swearing-in, after authorities barred vehicles to prevent violence that has claimed at least 200 lives this week.. The U.S. military boosted its presence in the Baghdad area before the inauguration.
To the north, several thousand Kurds protesting lack of government services stormed a museum in Halabja where officials were marking the 18th anniversary of a deadly poison gas attack by the forces of then-President Saddam Hussein.
