로마 가톨릭 교황, 베네딕토 14세는 인간의 모든 태아는 신성하고 침범할 수 없는 것이라고 선언하고 생명은 수태의 순간부터 시작된다고 규정한 가톨릭의 교리를 재확인했습니다.
베네딕토 교황은 27일, 개최된 생명에 관한 주교 아카데미에서 연설하는 가운데 이같이 선언했습니다. 교황은 또 하느님의 사랑은 인간의 태아와 어린이, 성인 또는 고령자를 차별하지 않는다고 강조했습니다.
로마 가톨릭의 생명에 관한 주교아카데미는 1994년에 당시 교황 요한 바오로 2세가 가톨릭 교리에 관련된 의학상의 문제를 규정하고 알리기 위해 처음 발족시켰습니다.

Pope Benedict says all human embryos are sacred and inviolable, which reaffirms the Catholic church's teaching that life begins at the moment of conception.
The pontiff made the comment today (Monday) during an address to the Pontifical Academy for Life.
Pope Benedict told those attending the conference that God's love does not make the distinction between a human embryo and a child, an adult or an elderly person.
