조류독감 H5N1 계통 바이러스의 첫 감염이 또 세 나라에서 확인됐습니다. 그루지아의 미하일 샤카쉬빌리 대통령은 야생 고니 한 마리가 조류독감 바이러스에 감염돼 죽은 것으로 처음 발견된 서부 지역에서 비상사태를 선포하고 죽은 야생조류가 발견된 흑해인근 지역의 사육중인 모든 가금류를 도살폐기하도록 명령했습니다.
또한 보스니아와 아프리키 니제르에서도 H5N1 바이러스에 감염돼 죽은 야생 조류들이 처음으로 확인됐습니다. 아프리카 대륙에서 조류독감 바이러스에 감염돼 죽은 야생조류가 발견된 것은 이집트와 나이제리아에 이어 니제르가 세 번째입니다.
한편, 프랑스 파리에서는 조류독감 바이러스 감염의 확산에 대처하는 방안에 관한 국제회의가 열리고 있는 가운데 전문가들은 조류독감 바이러스가 인체와 인체 사이에 직접 감염될 수 있는 형태로 돌연변이를 일으킬 수도 있다고 우려하고 있습니다.

Three more countries have reported their first cases of the H5N1 virus, as the deadly strain of bird flu continues to spread.
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili declared a state of emergency in the western region where officials found the virus in a wild swan. He ordered the culling of all domestic birds near a Black Sea village where the swan died.
Bosnia and Niger have also confirmed the presence of H5N1 in dead birds.
Niger is the third African country with an outbreak of bird flu this month, joining Nigeria and Egypt.
Meanwhile, Paris is hosting an international conference on ways to combat the spread of the disease.
