이 신문은 익명의 이스라엘 관리들과 서방 외교관들을 인용해 이같은 고립의 목표는 팔레스타인 정부를 불안정하게 만들어 하마스 출신 관리들이 실패하도록 한 뒤 새로운 선거가 실시되게 하는 것이라고 전했습니다.
신문은 또 이같은 접근방식이 미 국무부와 이스라엘 정부 고위 수준에서 논의되고 있다고 보도했습니다.

Citing unnamed Israeli officials and Western diplomats, the report said the aim would be to destabilize the Palestinian government so that newly elected Hamas officials would be deemed failures and new elections would be called.
