이란 외무부는 12일, 이란은 아직도 핵 확산 금지 조약을 준수할 결의로 있다고 밝혔습니다.
이란 외무부의 하미드 레자 아세피 대변인은 국제 사회가 이란 핵 계획 종식을 위한 압력을 증대시킨다면 이란은 핵 확산 금지 조약에서 탈퇴할 것이라고 마흐무드 아흐마디네자드 이란 대통령이 위협한 지 하루 만인 12일, 그같이 말했습니다.
아세피 대변인은 이란은 핵 확산 금지 조약 NPT의 의무 조항들을 준수할 것이라고 말하면서, 그러나 이란 정부는 NPT가 정치적 수단으로 이용되는 것은 받아들일 수 없다고 덧붙였습니다.
아세피 대변인은 또한 국제 원자력 기구와 유럽 연합에게 이란 핵 위기의 외교적 해결을 계속 추구하라고 촉구했습니다.

Iran's Foreign Ministry today (Sunday) downplayed a threat by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to pull out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi issued the latest declaration a day after the Iranian president said he would make such a move if international pressure to end Iran's nuclear program increases.
Asefi told a weekly news conference Iran is still committed to the provisions of the non-proliferation treaty, but that Tehran cannot accept its use as a political tool. He also urged the International Atomic Energy Agency and Europeans to continue to pursue a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
