Pakistani officials say two women were killed and four children wounded late Saturday when a rockets fired from Afghanistan hit their tent in a tribal region.
Local officials say the victims were members of a nomad tribe living in a border village north of Miran Shah, the main town in North Waziristan.
The Pakistani officials say the rockets were fired by US-led coalition forces from Afghanistan's eastern Khost province, in response to an attack from the Pakistani side of the border. A U.S. military spokesman in Afghanistan (Lt. Mike Cody) tells the Associated Press the return fire was coordinated with the Pakistani military.
