아프가니스탄 보안대가 아프간인 7명과 파키스탄인 2명을 자살공격음모 혐의로 구금했다고 관리들이 말했습니다.
아프가니스탄 남부 칸다하르주의 칼리드 주지사는 탈레반으로 의심되는 이들 9명이 칸다하르 급습 와중에 체포됐다고 말했습니다.
칼리드 주지사는 또 용의자들이 미군 주도 연합군과 정부 목표들을 겨냥해 자살공격을 가하는데 사용하려던 폭발물이 가득찬 차량들을 압수했다고 밝혔습니다.
아프가니스탄에서는 최근 몇 달 사이에 미군이 탈레반과 알카에다 요원 소탕작업을 벌이고 있는 남부와 동부 지역을 중심으로 저항세력의 공격이 늘어나고 있습니다.

Afghan officials say security forces have detained seven Afghans and two Pakistani nationals allegedly plotting suicide attacks.
The governor of southern Kandahar province (Asadullah Khalid) says the nine -- all suspected members of the Taleban -- were arrested during raids in Kandahar city.
He says security forces also seized vehicles laden with explosives, which the suspects were planning to use for suicide attacks against U.S.-led coalition forces and government targets.
Attacks by militants have increased in Afghanistan in recent months, primarily in southern and eastern regions where the U.S.-led forces are hunting Taleban remnants and al-Qaida fighters.
