A Slovak military plane has crashed in eastern Hungary near the border with Slovakia, killing 42 people.
Hungarian officials say only one of the soldiers on board the A.N.-24 aircraft survived.
They revised an earlier death toll of 44 after receiving an official passenger list from Slovakia indicating there were 43 people on board.
The plane carried Slovak peacekeeping troops from UN-administered Kosovo and was headed for the Slovakian town of Kosice when it crashed near the village of Telkibanya.
The officials say the plane went down in a mountainous region, making rescue efforts difficult.
Officials have not said what may have caused the crash.
