이들은 특히 한 해 최소한 5만여척의 선박이 이용하는 주요 통로인 말라카 해협에서의 무장 강도와 해적 행위 등 해상안전에의 위협에 대해 주목했습니다.
이번 회의에는 중국과 인도네시아, 호주, 싱가포르, 한국 등의 교통장관들과 국제해상기구 등 단체 대표들도 참석했습니다.

Transport officials from 14 countries have pledged unanimous commitment to greater international cooperation on transportation security.
In a statement issued today (Friday) in Tokyo, ministers wrapping up an anti-terrorism conference warned that terrorists were refining and adapting their tactics to find ways around security regulations.
Delegates specifically noted threats to maritime security, including armed robberies and piracy in the Straits of Malacca, a major waterway used by at least 50 thousand ships a year.
Among the participants at the conference were officials from the Group of Eight industrialized nations, which includes Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States.
Ministers from China, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea also attended, along with representatives from the International Maritime Organization and three other global bodies.
