황우석 박사는 12일, 한국전역에 방송된 텔레비전 기자회견에서 이같이 말했으나, 이번 사태와 관련한 모든 책임을 지겠다고 말했습니다.
황우석 박사의 이날 기자회견은, 황 박사가 인간배아 체세포 복제 줄기세포를 만들었다는 사실을 뒷받침할 만한 과학적 증거를 찾지 못했다고, 이틀전 서울대학교 조사위원회가 발표한데 뒤이어 열렸습니다.
한편, 60여명으로 구성된 한국검찰 수사대는 황 박사의 자택 등 여러 곳을 수색하고, 연구자료를 압수했습니다. 한국 검찰은 또한, 황 박사와 그의 연구팀에 대해 출국 금지령을 내렸습니다.

A disgraced South Korean scientist has apologized for wrongdoing at his laboratory after his stem cell research was found to be fraudulent, but blamed the scandal on junior researchers.
Hwang Woo-suk told a nationally televised news conference today (Thursday) that he suspects junior scientists deceived him about the data. However, Hwang said he must take full responsibility for the project.
Hwang spoke two days after a panel of experts found he had no data to support claims he produced stem cells from cloned human embryos.
Meanwhile, about 60 investigators confiscated research material during raids at Hwang's home and several other locations. Prosecutors have imposed a travel ban on Hwang and his team, and plan to launch a criminal investigation.
