세계보건기구, WHO는 지금까지 터키에서 4건의 사례만이 조류독감 환자로 확인됐으며 이들은 모두 조류독감에 걸린 가금류에 직접 접촉한 사람들이라고 말했습니다.
한편 러시아발 보도들은 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령이 10일 보건 관계관들에게 러시아의 조류독감 확산을 막기 위한 방안을 개발하도록 지시했다고 전했습니다.
또한 우크라이나의 관계관들은 10일 국내 3개 가금류 농장에서 H5N1 바이러스가 새로 발견됐음을 확인했습니다.
일본에서 교또 통신은 보건부 관계자들의 말을 인용해 대부분 가금류 농장에서 일하는 적어도 77명이 조류독감의 보다 덜 치명적인 H5N2 바이러스에 감염됐다고 보도했습니다.

Turkish officials say the number of people hospitalized across the country with symptoms of avian influenza has risen to about 70, and 14 others have tested positive for the deadly H5N1 strain of the virus.
