중국의 후진타오 국가 주석과 러시아의 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령은 양국간 문화 교류를 증진시킴으로써 올해 양국 관계를 더욱 강화할 것이라고 다짐했습니다.
중국 관영 신화 통신은 2일 이들 두 지도자가 새해 전야 인사를 교환하는 가운데 그같이 다짐했다고 보도했습니다. 중국은 2006년을 ‘러시아의 해’로 지정했으며 러시아는 오는 2007년에 ‘중국의 해’로 알려진 문화 행사들을 개최할 계획입니다.
후 주석은 세계 평화와 안정을 계속 유지하는데 있어 중국과 러시아가 공동 책임을 지고 있다고 말했습니다. 중국과 러시아는 최근 몇 년 동안 특히 지역 안보 문제들과 관련해 양국간 관계를 개선해왔습니다.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Russia counterpart, Vladimir Putin, have pledged to strengthen bilateral ties this year by promoting cultural exchanges between their countries. China's official Xinhua news agency reports today (Monday) the two leaders made the pledge as they exchanged greetings New Year's Eve.
China has designated 2006 as the "Year of Russia", and Mr. Hu promised to make the program a complete success. Russia will hold a similar series of cultural events known as the "Year of China" in 2007.
Mr. Hu says China and Russia have a joint responsibility to maintain peace and stability in the world. The two countries have improved their relations in recent years, especially on regional security issues.
