이스라엘의 주택 장관은 국제적인 중동평화안 ‘로드맵’의 유대인 정착촌 건설 동결 조항에도 불구하고 요르단강 서안에 228채의 주택을 새로 건설할 방안을 모색하고 있습니다.
새로 공개된 이 건축안에 따르면 바이타르 일리트 유대인 정착촌에 150채를, 에프라트 정착촌에 또다른 78채의 주택을 건설할 예정입니다. 이들 두 정착촌은 팔레스타인 인들이 장래 팔레스타인의 수도가 되길 원하고 있는 동예루살렘에서 불과 몇 킬로미터 떨어진 곳에 위치하고 있습니다.
중동평화안 ‘로드맵’은 이스라엘에게 점령지들에서의 모든 정착촌 건설 활동을 중단하도록 촉구하고 있습니다.

The Israeli Housing Ministry is seeking bids to build an additional 228 housing units in West Bank settlements, despite a requirement for a freeze in settlement expansion under the international "road map" peace plan.
According to a published tender, the construction plan is to build 150 units in the ultra-orthodox settlement of Beitar Illit and another 78 units in Efrat. Both settlements are within a few kilometers of East Jerusalem, where Palestinians hope to establish the capital of a future Palestinian state.
The "road map" peace process calls on Israel to halt all settlement activity in occupied territories. It also calls on the Palestinian Authority to crack down of militants attacking Israelis.
