Chinese and North Korean officials have signed a deal to jointly explore offshore oil resources. Chinese media say Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan and his visiting North Korean counterpart, Ro Tu Chol, signed the agreement in Beijing today (Saturday).
Mr. Ro arrived in China earlier today for a four day official visit. No details have been disclosed about the exact location of the drilling or when the operation will take place.
The agreement is being viewed as further progress in bilateral relations as both leaders praised the growing development of economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.
