South and North Korea have entered a second day of cabinet-level talks, with Seoul apparently making no progress in convincing Pyongyang to return to six-nation talks over its nuclear program.
South Korean spokesman Kim Chun-sig said today (Thursday) that North Korea blames the stalled talks on what it calls Washington's hostile policy.
The latest round of inter-Korean talks began Wednesday on South Korea's Jeju Island, and is expected to continue through Friday.
North Korea has said it will not attend the nuclear talks until the United States lifts economic sanctions. U-S officials say sanctions will end when Pyongyang stops its illegal activities, including counterfeiting and drug trafficking.
North Korea's official news agency today (Thursday) carried denials of those accusations and said Washington's charges reveal what it called the moral vulgarity of the Bush administration.
