Israel says it has successfully tested its anti-missile system. Security officials say an Arrow Two missile successfully downed an incoming rocket today (Friday) designed to simulate an Iranian Shahab-3.
The test, the latest in a series, came a day after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Israel could not accept the emergence of a nuclear-armed Iran. Mr. Sharon avoided threatening military action against the Islamic Republic.
First launched in 1988, the Arrow program was stepped up after Israel was hit by 39 Iraqi Scud missiles during the 1991 Gulf War.
