폭설과 결빙으로 독일의 뒤셀도르프 공항이 폐쇄되었고, 브뤼셀과 파리에서도 항공기 운항 취소가 잇따랐습니다. 파리의 명물 에펠탑은 계단과 플랫폼이 결빙되면서 너무 미끄러워 몇시간동안 일반에게 공개를 하지 않았습니다.
프랑스의 방디지역에서는 간밤에 거센 폭풍과 쓰러진 나무들 때문에 17,000여가구에 전기가 끊어졌습니다. 그러나 26일 낮까지 거의 절반 이상이 복구됐습니다. 폭설은 프랑스와 벨기에간의 고속도로를 마비시키고, 일부 지역의 철도 운행을 지연시켰습니다.

Heavy snow and extreme cold across northern and western Europe has closed roads, cut electric power and forced the cancellation of airline flights, stranding travelers. Snow and ice forced the closing of Germany's Duesseldorf Airport and flight cancellations in Brussels and Paris.
The Eiffel Tower was closed to the public for several hours because stairs and platforms were too slippery for visitors. The storm and fallen trees cut electricity to about 17,000 homes in France's Vendee region, south of Brittany overnight. But service was restored to more than half by mid-afternoon today (Saturday).
The snow blocked highways in France and Belgium and disrupted rail service in some areas. Police in southwest England used four-wheel drive vehicles to rescue people from cars stranded on highways.
