중국 후베이주 북부의 광산 침수 사고로 광부 14명이 갇혀 있는 가운데 구조대원들이 구조작업에 박차를 가하고 있다고 중국 관리들이 말했습니다.
중국 관영 신화통신은 싱타이에 소재한 이 광산이 19일 아침 침수됐다고 말했습니다.
싱타이에서는 지난 6일에도 불법 석회 광산이 붕괴되는 사고가 발생한 바 있습니다. 신화통신은 구조대원들이 당시 실종된 광부들에 대한 수색작업을 포기했으며 이로써 사망자 수가 37명으로 늘어났다고 보도했습니다.

Chinese officials say rescuers in the northern Hebei province are trying to reach 14 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine.
China's state-run Xinhua news agency says the mine flooded early today (Saturday) in Xingtai county
Xingtai is the same area where a complex of illegally-operated gypsum mines collapsed November sixth. Xinhua reports that rescuers have given up searching for the four remaining miners missing there, bringing the death toll to 37. One miner was rescued 11 days after the collapse.
