이라크 과격 단체, “이라크 알 카에다”가 내놓은 것으로 보이는 성명은, 4명의 이라크인이 요르단의 수도 암만에서 최소한 57명의 사망자와 100여명의 부상자를 낸 3건의 연쇄 폭탄 테러 공격을 자행했다고 주장했습니다.
이 단체와 제휴하고있는 한 회교 웹사이트에 11일 실린 이 성명은 이들 자살 폭탄 공격 팀은 3명의 남자와 이들중 한명의 부인인 여성으로 구성됐다고 말했습니다.
이 성명은 코피 아난 유엔 사무 총장이 암만을 방문해 관계자들과 이 공격에 관해 논의한 가운데 나왔습니다.
앞서 압둘라 왕은, 세 호텔들에 대한 자살 폭탄 공격을 계획하는데 도운 과격 분자들을 색출해서 정의의 심판대에 세우겠다고 다짐했습니다. 요르단 정부 관계관들은, 사망자의 대부분이 요르단인이라고 말했으나, 미국인 두명을 포함해 적어도 12명이 외국인으로 신원이 판명됐습니다.

A statement attributed to the militant group al-Qaida In Iraq says four Iraqis carried out the triple suicide bombings in Jordan that killed at least 56 people and wounded more than 100 others.
The statement, which appeared today (Friday) on an Islamist website associated with the group, says the team included three men and a woman married to one of the attackers. The statement came as U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan met with officials in Amman to discuss the attacks.
Jordanian King Abdullah has vowed to track down and bring to justice the militants who helped plan the suicide bombings on three hotels. Government officials said most of the dead are Jordanians, but at least 12 foreigners have been identified, including two Americans.
