수 많은 취재진과 지지자들이 6일 인천 공항에 도착한 김씨를 맞았습니다. 전 미 해군 정보 분석가였던 김씨는 지난 1996년 기밀정보를 워싱턴 주재 한국 대사관에 전달한 죄로 1997년 기소됐습니다.
만 7년 만인 지난 해 석방된 김씨는 지난 달 10월에 가석방 기간이 끝나면서 해외 여행을 할 수 있게 됐습니다. 김씨는 이틀 간의 한국 방문 동안 김대중 전 대통령과 다른 인사들을 만나고 자서전 서명회도 가질 계획입니다.

A Korean-American who served a nine-year jail term in the United States for spying for South Korea has received a hero's welcome in his native country.
Robert Kim was greeted today (Sunday) by scores of reporters and supporters upon his arrival at Inchon airport near Seoul.
Kim, a former U.S. Navy intelligence analyst, was convicted in 1997 for passing classified information to the South Korean Embassy in Washington in 1996.
He was able to leave the United States after a probation period ended in October. Kim was released from prison last year.
During his two-week visit, Kim plans to see former president Kim Dae-Jung and other dignitaries. He also plans a book-signing ceremony for his autobiography.
