반기문 한국 외교통상부 장관은 고이즈미 일본 총리의 야스쿠니 신사 방문이 지역 질서를 해치고 있다면서 이를 중단해줄 것을 촉구했습니다.
일본을 방문 중인 반 장관은 28일 고이즈미 총리를 면담한 자리에서 야스쿠니 신사 참배는 개탄스런 일이라면서 이는 동아시아의 장래를 위해 바람직하지 않다고 말했습니다.
이에 대해 고이즈미 총리는 한 가지 문제에 대한 견해차에도 불구하고 우호적 관계를 갖는 것이 중요하다고 말했습니다.
반 장관은 마치무라 노부다카 일본 외상과의 회담에서는 유죄가 확정된 전범이 포함되지 않는 다른 신사를 건설하도록 일본 측에 제안했습니다.

South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon has urged Japan's Prime Minister to stop visiting a controversial war shrine, saying his visits are damaging regional order.
During a meeting Friday in Tokyo with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, Mr. Ban called the visits to the Yasukuni shrine "deplorable" and said they are not desirable for the future of East Asia.
Mr. Koizuimi responded by saying it was important to have friendly relations despite a difference of opinion on one issue.
The shrine honors Japanese war dead, including convicted war criminals. Critics say it glorifies Japan's wartime past, but the prime minister says he visits the shrine to pray for peace.
Mr. Ban, who arrived in Tokyo Thursday for a three-day visit, also met with his Japanese counterpart (Nobutaka Machimura), and again proposed building another war shrine that would not include convicted war criminals.
