일본을 방문하고 있는 한국의 반기문 외교통상부 장관은 한국 국민은 고이즈미 준이치로 일본 총리의 논란 많은 야스쿠니 신사 참배와 관련해 실망하고 있다고 말했습니다.
반 장관은 일본 고위 관리들과의 회담을 위해 사흘일정으로 27일 오전 도쿄에 도착했습니다.
반 장관은 이날 일본의 마치무라 노부타카 일본 외상과 만나 일본 관리들로 하여금 전범들의 위패가 안치돼 있지 않은 다른 신사를 건립해 참배할 것을 제의했습니다. 마치무라 외상은 반 장관의 제의를 검토하겠다고 말했습니다.
한국과 일본은 지난 17일 고이즈미 총리가 일본 A급 전범들이 안치돼 있는 야스쿠니 신사를 참배하면서 양국간에 긴장이 고조됐습니다.
고이즈미 총리는 앞서 이번주 자신의 신사 참배가 한일 관계에 심각한 손상을 주지는 않을것으로 생각한다고 말했습니다.

South Korea Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon says South Koreans are disappointed over the Japanese prime minister's visit to a controversial shrine for war dead.
Mr. Ban arrived in Tokyo earlier today (Thursday) for a three-day visit with top Japanese officials. He met with his Japanese counterpart, Nobutaka Machimura, where he again proposed building another war shrine that would not include convicted war criminals, and which could serve as a site
for official visits. Mr. Machimura said he would consider the proposal.
Tensions flared between the two countries over Mr. Koizumi's October 17th visit to the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, which South Korea says glorifies Japan's wartime past.
Earlier this week, Mr. Koizumi said he thought Japanese-South Korean relations were not severely damaged by his shrine visit.
