일본의 마이니치 신문사가 최근 발표한 설문조사에 따르면 일본인들은 미국을 중국보다 두 배가량 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났습니다.
마이니치 신문은 6일, 일본의 최대 무역 상대국인 중국과 미국에 대한 일본인들의 감정을 전국적으로 조사한 설문 결과를 발표했습니다.
9월초 실시된 이 설문조사에 응답한 약 2천4백명의 일본인들 가운데 약 65퍼센트가 미국에 호감을 갖고 있다고 응답한 반면 중국에 대해선 31퍼센트만이 친근감을 나타냈습니다.
반대로 응답자의 약 68퍼센트가 중국에 대해 친근감을 느끼지 못한다고 대답한 반면, 미국에 대해선 33퍼센트가 친근감을 느끼지 못한다고 응답했습니다.
중국의 군사적, 경제적 성장과 일본 역사를 기술한 일본 교과서에 대한 불화 등으로 최근 중국과 일본간의 긴장관계가 부분적으로 고조돼 왔습니다.

A newly released Japanese newspaper survey finds Japanese prefer the United States to China by a two to one margin.
Japan's Mainichi Shimbun published the results of its nationwide survey on how the country feels about its two largest trading partners today (Thursday).
Of the about 24-hundred people questioned in early September, roughly 65 percent said they feel an affinity toward the United States, compared with only 31 percent who expressed friendly feelings toward China.
Conversely, about 68 percent said they harbor no friendly feelings for China, compared with 33 percent for the United States.
Tensions between Japan and China have increased recently partly because of China's expanding military and economic power and disagreement over the way Japanese textbooks teach the country's military history.
