일본과 중국은 동지나해에서 진행 중인 중국의 석유 및 천연가스 시추작업과 관련한 협상을 재개했습니다.
30일 일본 도쿄에서 열린 협상에서 일본측은 이번 작업이 일본 해역에서 이뤄지고 있다며 중단을 촉구하는 한편 두 나라가 함께 시추작업을 할 것을 제안했습니다.
일본의 교도통신은 일본 외무성 고위 관리의 말을 인용해 양쪽이 아직 아무런 양보도 하지 않고 있다고 보도했습니다.
중국은 시추작업이 일본 해역에서 이뤄지지 않고 있다고 주장하고 있습니다.

Japan and China have resumed negotiations over Beijing's ongoing oil and gas exploration in the East China Sea, but appear to be far from an agreement.
During today's (Friday's) talks in Tokyo, Japan urged China to stop operations in what it says are Japanese waters and join a bilateral exploration of the area.
Japan's Kyodo news agency quoted a senior Japanese Foreign Ministry official who said after the meeting that there have as yet been no mutual concessions.
China maintains the drilling is not in Japanese territory.
Ahead of the talks, Beijing sent naval reserve ships to the disputed area for what it said was activities aimed at boosting the navy's rapid response and rescue abilities.
