홍콩의 친 민주주의 입법의원들이 25일, 1989년 텐안멘 사태 이후 처음으로 본토 중국을 방문했습니다.
중국은 중국 정부를 비난했다는 이유로 이들의 방문을 금지해 왔었습니다. 중국 정부는 친선의 의미로 홍콩의 입법 의원 60명 전원을 이틀간 중국에 초청했습니다.
홍콩의 도널드 창 행정장관은 중국 방문에 나서기 앞서 기자들에게 이번 방문이 본토 중국과 홍콩 입법원 사이에 대화를 증진하는 기회가 될 수 있을 것이라고 말했습니다.

Hong Kong's pro-democracy lawmakers crossed the border into mainland China today (Sunday) for the first time since being barred for criticizing Beijing after the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown.
The Chinese government invited Hong Kong's entire 60-member legislature on the two-day trip as a goodwill gesture.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang told reporters before setting out on the trip that the visit could enhance communication between the mainland and the city's legislators.
