한국은 북한과 50년 간의 적대관계를 청산하는 영구적 평화 체제 를 북한과 논의하길 희망하고 있습니다.
남북회담의 한국측 대표단 대변인인 김천식 통일부 교류협력국장은 13일, 평양에서 개최될 남북장관급회담에서 이 문제가 거론될 것이라고 12일 말했습니다.
김천식 대변인은 기자회견에서 이같이 밝히면서 “이번 장관급회담이 한반도 평화문제의 출발점이 돼야 할 것”이라고 말했습니다.
지난번 장관급회담에서는 북한이 평화협정문제를 미국과 논의하겠다고 주장하는 바람에 경제협력에 초점을 맞췄었습니다.

South Korea hopes to hold discussions with North Korea on working out a permanent peace treaty to end five decades of confrontation.
Kim Chun-sig, a spokesman for South Korean delegates to inter-Korean talks, said today (Monday) the subject would be brought up at ministerial negotiations opening in Pyongyang on Tuesday.
Mr. Kim told reporters in Seoul that this round of ministerial talks should be the starting point on the issue of peace on the Korean peninsula.
Previous talks focused on economic cooperation, as Pyongyang has insisted it would discuss with the United States the issue of signing a peace treaty.
The four days of Cabinet-level talks in Pyongyang coincide with six-nation nuclear disarmament negotiations to be held in Beijing.
