인도의 만모한 싱 총리와 페르베즈 무사랴프 파키스탄 대통령이 다음달 9월 14일 뉴욕에서 19개월간 지속되온 양국간 평화 과정을 검토하기 위해 정상회담을 갖습니다.
이번 정상 회담은 뉴욕에서 열리는 유엔 총회와 별도로 열리는 것입니다.
인도 정부는 인도와 파키스탄 고위 관리들이 뉴델리에서 테러리즘과 불법 마약 거래를 근절하기 위한 방법을 모색하는 회담을 열고 있는 가운데 정상 회담 소식을 발표했습니다.
양국은 또한 최근 간첩 혐의로 기소된 인도인을 처형하겠다는 파키스탄의 결정에 인도가 강력한 항의를 제기한 이래로 상대국에 수감되어 있는 자국 수감자들을 처리하는 방식에 관해서도 논의할 예정입니다.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf are to meet in New York on September 14th to review the 19-month old peace process between their countries.
They will meet on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly session. India made the announcement as senior officials of the two neighbors began talks in New Delhi on ways to curb terrorism and drug trafficking. The two sides will also discuss how to deal with each other's nationals being held as prisoners, after a public outcry in India over Pakistan's decision to execute an Indian convicted of spying.
Pakistani authorities said Manjit Singh worked for Indian intelligence, but his family says he is actually Sarabjit Singh, a farmer from Punjab who accidentally crossed the frontier while drunk. His family members have threatened to commit suicide if he is executed.
