이스라엘은 23일 요르단강 서안 2개 정착촌의 철거를 끝마침으로써 팔레스타인 영토 내 25개 유대인 정착촌 철거작업을 일주일만에 완료했습니다.
이스라엘군은 이날 오전 요르단강 서안 북부에 있는 사누르와 호메쉬에 설치된 장벽을 뚫고 진입해 철거에 반대하는 마지막 시위자들을 제거했습니다.
이날 비무장한 상태의 군과 경찰이 진입해 젊은 과격파들을 끌어내기 시작하자 이들은 돌부스러기 등을 던지며 저항했습니다. 하지만 인근의 두 곳 유대인 정착촌 주민들은 자발적으로 철수했습니다.
이스라엘은 앞서 22일 가자지구 내 21개 정착촌에 대한 철거를 완료했습니다.

Israel has completed its week-long evacuation of 25 Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories, as troops cleared the last remaining resisters from two West Bank settlements.
Israeli troops smashed their way through barricades in the northern West Bank settlements of Sanur and Homesh early Tuesday, and began removing protesters who had vowed to stop the pullout.
Unarmed soldiers and police were met by a hail of debris and cooking oil as they moved to evict young radicals. Residents of two other nearby Jewish settlements had already left voluntarily.
Monday, Israel completed the evacuation of all 21 Gaza Strip settlements, in a move to end its 38 year occupation of the Palestinian territory. Israeli army chief Dan Halutz says all houses in the 25 settlements will be destroyed within 10 days. The army is to begin dismantling its Gaza bases next week.
