카자크스탄에서도 조류독감 감염 사례가 나타났습니다. 카자크스탄 농무 관계관들은 카자크스탄 북부지역 파블로다르주와 인근 3개 마을에서 러시아가 발단인 조류독감 감염된 새들이 발견됐다고 밝히고 그러나 사람에게 치명적인 H5N1 계통의 조류 바이러스가 사람에게 옮겨진 사례는 나타나지 않았다고 말했습니다.
이보다 앞서 러시아 보건당국 관계관들은 이달 초에 러시아 노보시비르스크 지역에서 H5N1 계통의 조류독감 바이러스가 발견됐다고 발표한 바 있습니다.
동남아시아에서는 지난 2003년에 H5N1계통의 조류독감 바이러스 감염으로60 여명이 사망했습니다.

Kazakh officials say an outbreak of highly potent bird flu that originated in Russia has since appeared in Kazakhstan -- but there is still no known case of the virus spreading to humans.
Kazakh agricultural officials say they have found birds infected with the potentially fatal H5N1 strain of bird flu virus in the country's northern Pavlodar region and three villages in other areas.
Russia's Health Ministry confirmed earlier this month the discovery of the virus strain in the Novosibirsk region. Reports say the virus has killed thousands of birds.
A Russian health official said this week he expects the outbreak to disappear in the next 10 to 15 days.
But the European Union has called for member states to ban imports of feathers and live birds from Russia and Kazakhstan.
H5N1 has killed 60 people in southeast Asia since 2003.
