이같은 유가 상승은 세계 최대 산유국인 사우디아라비아의 안보와 관련한 우려에 따른 것이라고 전문가들은 밝혔습니다.
미국은 테러 공격 위협이 있은 직후 사우디 아라비아 수도에 있는 미국대사관을 잠정 폐쇄했으며 호주와 영국도 테러공격 가능성을 경고했습니다.
전문가들은 정유시설의 문제들도 가격상승의 요인이 되고 있다고 말합니다.

World oil prices hit a new record high today (Monday).The price of crude oil for future delivery went as high as 64 dollars a barrel in New York trading before prices eased slightly at the close (falling to 63 dollars and 94 cents).
Analysts say the rising prices reflect security concerns in the world's largest oil producer, Saudi Arabia.
The United States has temporarily closed its embassy in the Saudi capital, along with some other diplomatic facilities in the country, after threats of terrorist attacks. Australia and Britain also have warned of possible attacks.
Experts add that problems at refineries are pushing prices upwards.
Crude oil prices have risen at least 40 percent since this time last year.
