캄차카 반도 근처 태평양 해저에 좌초됐다가 영국의 도움으로 사흘 만에 무사히 구조된 러시아 소형 잠수함 승조원 7명은 현재 의료진의 검사를 받고 있습니다.
러시아 당국자들은 모든 승무원들의 건강이 양호한 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
러시아 소형 잠수함은 영국의 해저 로봇이 잠수함 프로펠라에 걸려 있던 케이블들을 절단한 후 수면위로 떠올랐습니다.
당시 승조원들에게는 약 12시간 분량의 산소 만이 남아 있었습니다. 러시아 당국자들은 영국과 미국, 일본의 지원에 감사한다고 말했습니다. 러시아는 자체적으로 잠수함을 구조할 수 없게 되자 국제적 도움을 요청했습니다.
러시아의 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령은 대변인을 통해 사의를 표시하고, 또한 이번 사고에 대한 조사를 지시했습니다.

Seven Russian sailors are undergoing medical exams following their rescue today (Sunday) from a trapped mini-submarine, and officials say they appear to be in satisfactory condition.
The submarine's captain (Lt.Vyacheslav Milashevsky) saluted as he stepped onto land after the three day ordeal, and said he was fine.
The mini-submarine surfaced after a British undersea robot cut it free from entangling cables off Russia's far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula. The crew had only about half a day's oxygen left.
Russian officials thanked Britain, the United States and Japan for their assistance. Russia had asked for international help when it could not free the sub on its own.
Russian President Vladimir Putin offered thanks through a spokesman and ordered an investigation.
