이날 발표된 일본의 연례백서는 중국의 잠수함 한 척이 일본 영해를 침범한 지난 11월의 사건을 예로 들면서 중국이 갈수록 해군력 사용을 증대하고 있는 점을 주목하고 있습니다.
백서는 또 중국의 군사력 현대화 노력이 자위상의 필요 이상으로 이뤄지고 있는지에 대해 계속 면밀히 관찰할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

Japanese defense planners have expressed concern about China's military spending in their annual white paper-- prompting a sharp reaction from China.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Kong Quan accused Japan of exaggerating the "China threat" and warned that the white paper risked harming ties between the two countries.
The annual report issued today (Tuesday) also noted Beijing's increasing use of its maritime military forces, citing an incident last November, when a Chinese submarine violated Japanese territorial waters.
The report says Tokyo will keep a close watch on China's current modernization efforts to determine if they go beyond Beijing's self-defense needs.
Relations between Japan and China are at their lowest in several decades, in part because of a feud over gas drilling in the East China Sea.
Japan is also casting a cautious eye on North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
