중국에서 이번 여름의 홍수로 현재 764명이 사망하고 191명이 실종됐으며 홍수피해민이 9천만 명에 달했다고 관영 신화통신이 17일 보도했습니다.
신화통신은 중국 홍수 및 가뭄 대책당국의 집계를 인용해 이같이 보도하고 27개 성에서 일어난 홍수로 약 7백만 헥타르의 경작지가 유실됐으며 가옥 70만 2천 여채가 파괴됐다고 밝혔습니다.
중국의 이번 여름 홍수사태에 따른 간접적인 경제손실은 약60억 달러에 달하는 것으로 추산됩니다.
신화 통신은 피해가 가장 심한 지역은 남부와 동부 지역이라고 보도했습니다.

China's summer floods have affected 90-million people so far, killing 764 and leaving another 191 missing.
The official Xinhua news agency said today (Sunday) that 27 provinces, municipalities and regions have been affected.
Citing information from the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, Xinhua said about seven-million hectares of crops were destroyed and more than 702-thousand houses collapsed.
The rains have caused nearly six-billion dollars in direct economic losses.
Xinhua says the worst-hit regions have been in southern and eastern parts of China.
