영국 스코틀랜드에서 사흘간 열렸던 선진 7개국과 러시아 등 주요 8개국 정상 회의가 아프리카 국가들에 대한 원조 계획 발표와 함께 8일 폐막됐습니다.
토니 블레어 영국총리는 8개국 정상들이 아프리카 국가들에 대한 5백억 달러의 원조 계획과 새로운 무역 거래, 그리고 최빈국들에 대한 부채 탕감에 대해 합의했다고 말했습니다.
블레어 총리의 발표는 아프리카 연합 회의 뒤에 발표됐습니다.
블레어 총리는 환경문제와 관련해 8개국 정상들은 기후변화와 지구 온난화에 대한 인간 행위의 책임에 동의하고 이러한 흐름의 속도 지연과 역전의 중요성을 강조했습니다.

The world's seven leading industrialized nations and Russia have concluded their summit in Scotland with the announcement of an aid package for African states.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said the Group of Eight leaders (from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Russia and the United States) promised 50 billion dollars in aid for Africa, a new deal on trade,
and forgiveness of debts of the world's poorest countries. Mr. Blair's announcement followed a meeting with a group of African heads of state.
On environmental issues, Mr. Blair said the summit agreed that human activity is responsible for climate change and global warming, and stressed the importance of slowing and reversing the trend. As part of this
effort, he announced plans for a conference in Britain November first to start a dialogue between industrialized countries and emerging nations on stopping global warming.
He also stressed the importance of getting such countries as the United States, India and China involved in the effort.
