워싱턴 지역 기업체 간부의 연봉과 각종 혜택이 지속적으로 올라 현재는 연간 70만 달라에 달한 것으로 최근의 조사에서 나타났습니다.
워싱턴 포스트가 조사해 27일 보도한바에 따르면 기업체 간부들이 받는 대우의 중간치 수치는 작년에 비해 5.5%가 올라 약 66만 8천 달라에서 70만 4천 달라에 달하고 있습니다.
워싱턴 지역에서 미국내 최고 연봉100위권 진입율은 낮지만 중간치 대우 수준은 봉급, 보너스, 스탁 옵션, 기타 복지 혜택등을 모두 합치면 연간 525만 달라에 달해 매우 높은 편입니다.
봉급과 보너스만을 계산하면 워싱턴 지역 기업체 간부의 작년 중간치 대우는 40만 달라를 약간 넘어, 일반 직원들의 평균 연봉 연간 3만 7천 달라에 비해 10배가 넘는 수준입니다.

A new survey of business executives' earnings here in Washington shows their annual salary and benefits continue to rise, and are now above 700,000 dollars per year.
The Washington Post, which conducted the survey, reports today (Monday) that the midpoint (median) for executives' compensation rose almost 5.5 percent last year ( -- from $668,049 in 2003 to $704,713).
Earnings for a "top 100" list of Washington area executives rose by a smaller percentage, but the median compensation level was a comfortable 5.25 million dollars, including salaries, bonuses, stock options and other benefits.
Measuring only salary and bonuses, median compensation for a Washington executive last year was just over 400,000 dollars -- more than 10 times the earnings of an average non-executive worker ($37,060).
