홍콩의 도날드 창 신임 행정장관이 취임함으로써 8년전 홍콩의 주권이 영국에서 중국으로 반환된 이후 첫 지도부 교체가 완료됐습니다.
창 신임 행정 장관은 중국 베이징 인민대회당에서 24일 취임 선서를 갖고 공개석상에서 웬자바오 중국 총리와 잠시 면담했습니다.
창 장관은 건강상의 이유로 지난 3월 사임한 등젠화 전 행정 장관의 뒤를 잇게됩니다. 중국 정부가 신임 행정 장관은 5년의 행정장관 임기 대신에 등젠화 전 행정 장관의 임기 잔여 기간인 2년 만을 채우도록 결정함으로써 도날드 창 장관은 오는 2007년 6월 20일 까지만 행정 장관직을 맡게될 것입니다.

Hong Kong's new leader has been sworn in, completing the first leadership change in the former British colony since it returned to Chinese rule eight years ago.Donald Tsang took the oath of office today (Friday) in Beijing's Great Hall of the People, where he met briefly in public with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
Mr. Tsang replaced Tung Chee-hwa, who resigned in March citing failing health.
The new leader of Hong Kong will hold the office until June 20th, 2007 after Beijing decided he would serve only the remaining two years of Mr. Tung's tenure instead of the full five-year term.
Analysts have said they believe Mr. Tung was pushed out by Beijing after losing confidence in him.
