사우드 알-파이잘 왕자는 28일 기자들에게 의료검진 결과는 국왕의 건강이 안정된 상태임을 재확인해 주고 있다고 말했습니다.
그러나 왕자도 왕궁도 모두 고령의 파드 국왕의 병명에 대해 언급하고 있지 않고 있는데, 관리들은 국왕이 페렴을 앓고 있을지도 모른다고 말하고 있습니다.
세계 최대의 산유국인 사우디 아라비아의 파드 국왕의 입원 소식이 전해지자 국제유가는 28일에 배럴당 52달러로 치솟았습니다.
파드 국왕의 이복동생인 압둘라 왕세자는 1995년 파드 국왕이 뇌졸증으로 쓰러진 후 국왕이 하던 일상 업무의 상당부분을 수행하고 있으며, 사실상 최고통치자 역할을 해오고 있습니다.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister says King Fahd is in stable condition, a day after being hospitalized for medical tests.
Prince Saud al-Faisal told reporters in Riyadh today (Saturday) that test results have been reassuring about the king's condition.
Neither the prince or the royal palace has said what is ailing the elderly monarch, but officials say he is suffering from a lung infection, possibly pneumonia.
Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil exporter, and news of the king's hospitalization Friday pushed world oil prices close to 52 dollars a barrel.Since King Fahd suffered a stroke in 1995, his half brother, Crown Prince Abdullah, has taken on many of the daily duties of running the kingdom.
