국제 인권 단체 ‘엠네스티 인터네셔날’은 아시아 전역에 걸쳐 인권이 여전히 위협받고 있다고 지적했습니다.
런던에 본부를 둔 엠네스티 인터네셔날은 연례 보고서에서 그러나 이들 지역에서 지방 선거 의제들에 빈곤이나 테러와의 전쟁과 같은 문제가 대두되고 있는 것은 인권 문제에 또 다시 초점이 맞춰질 것이라는 희망을 고조시키고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
엠네스티 인터네셔날은 중국과 라오스 ,버마, 북한 등지에서는 반체제에 대한 억압이 여전히 계속되고 있다고 말했습니다.엠네스티 인터네셔날은 또 말레이시아와 필리핀 국민들은 경찰의 부패로 보호받지 못하고 있다고 지적했습니다.
보고서는 인도네시아 정부군과 반군 모두 아체지역에서 일어난 인권 유린사태에 책임이 있다고 말했습니다. 보고서는 또한 오랜 내전이 아체 지역 전역의 여성과 어린이들에 미친 영향이 극심하다고 지적했습니다.

Amnesty International says human rights throughout Asia remain under threat.
But in its annual report, the London-based group says the appearance of the issues like poverty and the "war on terror" on local election agendas has raised hopes of a renewed focus on the human rights situation in the region.
Amnesty says political dissent continues to be suppressed in China, Laos, Burma, North Korea and Vietnam. It also pointed out that people in Malaysia and the Philippines are being denied protection because of police corruption.
And Amnesty says both Indonesian government troops and rebels have been responsible for grave human rights abuses in Aceh province. The rights report also says the impact of long-standing conflicts on women and children across the region is severe.
