이라크 과격 시아파 성직자 모크타다 알-사드르 보좌관들은 점차 심화되는 종파간 긴장을 해소하기 위해 수니파 회교 학자들로 구성된 한 주요 단체와 보기 드문 회담을 가졌습니다.
22일에 열린 이 회담은 이라크 당국자들이 새 정부 명단을 공개한지 4주도 채 안돼 아루어졌습니다. 이라크 새 정부가 발표된 이후 폭탄 및 매복 공격, 그밖의 다른 폭력등으로 수니파와 시아파 성직자들을 포함해 5백여명이 목숨을 잃었습니다.
이날 회담이 끝난 뒤 시아파의 한 고위 참석자는 알-아라비야 텔레비전 방송에 출연해 종파간 위기 사태는 해결되는 방향으로 나아가는 것으로 믿고 있다고 말했습니다. 수니파 대변인 역시 에이피 통신을 통해 이번 회담을 환영했습니다.
한편 루마니아는 이날 바그다드에서 근 두달째 납치됐던 루마니아 기자 3명과 그들을 안내 중이었던 이라크 안내원이 석방됐다고 말했습니다.
앞서 바그다드에서 무장 괴한들은 22일 출근하던 알라 마우사 살만 이라크 무역부 장관과 그의 운전 기사를 살해했습니다.

Aides to radical Iraqi Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr have held a rare meeting with a key group of Sunni Muslim scholars, in a push to ease growing sectarian tensions.
Today's (Sunday's) meeting comes less than four weeks after Iraqi authorities unveiled a new government. Since then, more than 500 people, including Sunni and Shi'ite clerics, have been killed in bombings, ambushes and other violence.
After today's (Sunday's) meeting, a top Shi'ite participant told al-Arabiyah television he believes the crisis is on its way to being resolved. A Sunni spokesman also praised the meeting, in comments to the Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Romania says three Romanian journalists and their Iraqi guide have been freed, nearly two months after they were kidnapped in Baghdad.
Elsewhere in the capital, gunmen killed the director-general of Iraq's Trade Ministry (Ali Mousa Salman) and his driver, as the minister traveled to work.
