한국은 주초에 열린 북한과의 차관급 실무자 회담에서 합의한 내용의 일환으로 북한에 대한 비료 수송을 재개했습니다.
한국 통일부 관계자들은 21일 비료를 실은 트럭 50대의 차량 행렬이 북한 개성으로 향했다고 말했습니다. 이 비료는 남측이 이번 주 북한과의 회담에서 공급을 약속한 20만 톤의 비료 가운데 일부분입니다.
남한은 매년 평균 100만 톤의 비료가 부족한 북한에게 지금까지 150만 톤의 비료를 제공했습니다.
북한은 남북간에 10개월 만에 열린 나흘 동안의 이번 회담에서 북한의 핵문제를 공동발표문에 포함시키자는데 반대했습니다. 하지만 북한은 다음 달 남한과 장관급 회담을 재개하는 데 합의했으며 북한 핵문제는 이 회담에서 다시 거론될 것으로 보입니다.

South Korea has resumed shipments of fertilizer to North Korea, as part of an agreement reached between the countries in their latest round of talks.A convoy of trucks carrying 10-thousand tons of fertilizer traveled to the North Korean border town of Kaesong today (Saturday).
It is the first time the impoverished Communist state has opened its land border for humanitarian aid transport in 10 months.
The shipment is part of 200-thousand tons of fertilizer that South Korean officials pledged during talks in North Korea earlier this week.
South Korea said any additional aid would be contingent on the North agreeing to return to multi-national talks about its nuclear weapons program. North Korea has refused to rejoin the talks.
