유엔 인권위원회는 중국에게 강제 노동형과 아동 노동을 철폐할 것을 촉구했습니다.
유엔 경제 사회 문화 권리 위원회는 13일 그같은 권고안을 발표했습니다.
제네바에 본부를 둔 이 기구는 중국의 근로 여건이 전반적으로 불량하다며 과다한 노동 시간, 심각한 직장 사고의 잦은 발생등을 지적했습니다. 유엔 기구는 또 탄광과 같은 위험한 직장에 아동들을 투입하는 현상에도 우려를 나타냈습니다.
이 위원회는 또 중국의 강제 낙태에 관해서도 우려를 표명했습니다. 30년 전 중국이 도입한, 한 아이 낳기 정책은 강제 낙태와 인권 유린를 유발하고 있다는 비난을 많이 받고 있습니다.

A U.N. human rights committee has called on China to abolish forced labor as a punishment and to ban child labor. The U.N. Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights issued the recommendations Friday. The Geneva-based U.N. body cited "generally poor" working conditions in China that include "excessive working hours" and a high incidence of serious occupational accidents.
It said it is concerned about child labor in hazardous occupations such as mining. The committee also raised concerns about forced abortions in China. The country's one-child policy, introduced a generation ago, has been widely criticized for leading to forced abortions and other human rights violations.
