미국의 로버트 죌릭 국무부 부장관은 이번 주에 동남아시아 6개국 순방에 나서 경제와 정치, 안보 문제등을 논의할 예정입니다.
죌릭 부장관은 2일 부터 열흘 간의 동남아시아 순방 기간 동안, 태국과 말레이시아,베트남, 인도네시아, 싱가포르, 필리핀을 방문합니다.
죌릭 부장관은 인도네시아 방문 기간에 반다 아체 주를 찾아 미국의 지진 해일 피해 복구와 지원 노력을 살펴보고 종전 30주년을 맞는 베트남에서는 두 나라 간 외교 관계 수립 10주년 기념식에 참석하고, 베트남 당국자들과 인권 문제도 논의할 계획입니다.
죌릭 부장관은 또한 필리핀에서 열리는 세계 2차 대전 종전 60주년 기념식에도 참석할 예정입니다.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick heads to Southeast Asia this week for a six-nation tour to discuss economic, political and security issues.
Mr. Zoellick's 10-day diplomatic trip beginning Monday includes stops in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines.
While in Indonesia, the Deputy Secretary will visit Banda Aceh to observe American post-tsunami reconstruction and assistance efforts.
As Vietnam celebrates the 30th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, Mr. Zoellick will observe the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two former battlefield adversaries. He also plans to discuss human rights concerns with Vietnamese officials, and will participate in ceremonies in the Philippines to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
