Jen: Mmm~ smell good. Are the hamburgers almost done?
Jason: Yes it is. Go grab a plate and I’ll give you one.
Jen: Wait. Are you sure it’s done? It doesn’t look like it cooked all the way through. It’s still a little pink.
Jason: Trust me! I’ve grilled plenty of hamburgers in the past and I know when my burgers are done!
Jen: Okay, if that’s the case, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt!
Jason: Thanks

제가 Jason에게 “Mmm~ smell good. Are the hamburgers almost done? 라고 묻자 Jason이 “Yes it is. Go grab a plate and I’ll give you one.” 그러자 제가 “Wait. Are you sure it’s done? It doesn’t look like it cooked all the way through. It’s still a little pink. Jason은 “Trust me! I’ve grilled plenty of hamburgers in the past and I know when my burgers are done! 이어 제가 “Okay, if that’s the case, 알았어 I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt! 오늘의 영어 표현은 Benefit of the doubt 입니다. When giving someone the benefit of the doubt, you believe what he or she is saying despite the uncertainty. Now let’s listen to the conversation again.
