nuclear disarmament.
A commentary in the "Minju Choson" daily today(Tuesday) accuses
Japan of impeding progress of the six-nation talks. It also criticizes Tokyo
for refusing to provide its share of energy aid for North Korea as agreed in
the talks.
The North Korean government mouthpiece accuses Japan of blocking North Korea's
disarmament in order to have an excuse for boosting its own military power.
Tokyo has said that despite the progress achieved in the talks, it will not
provide any fuel to North Korea until the communist regime discloses all
information on Japanese citizens it had abducted in the past.
Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Takeo Kawamura confirmed his government's
position today, citing a lack of progress on the issue.
