오바마 후보는 매케인 후보가 공화당의 선거 유세에서 표출되고 있는 격한 감정들을 잘 제어해 준데 대해 감사하다고 밝혔습니다. 지난 10일 매케인 후보는 한 선거유세에서 지지자들에게 오바마 후보를 점잖고 좋은 사람이라고 표현했습니다.
민주당의 오바마 후보는 펜실바니아주에서 가진 선거유세에서 미국 경제의 상황을 언급하며 매케인 후보의 경제정책은 별 효과가 없을 것이라고 주장했습니다.
매케인 후보도 11일 아이오와주에서 유세를 갖고, 현 경제위기를 해결하기 위해서 자신은 신속하게 과감한 행동을 취할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
한편 공화당의 부통령 후보인 사라 페일린 알래스카주 주지사는 11일, 자신이 주지사의 권한을 남용했다는 주장을 부인했습니다.
알래스카주의 민주, 공화 양당 주의원들로 구성된 조사위원회는 페일린 주지사가 자신의 동생의 전남편을 경찰직에서 물러나게 하기 위해 압력을 행사한 것으로 보인다고 결론내렸습니다.

urging supporters to be respectful even though both sides disagree.
The Democrat said he appreciates McCain's effort to control angry outbursts at
Republican campaign events. On Friday, McCain told supporters that Obama is a
decent person after a rally grew increasingly heated.
Obama then quickly turned to the U.S. economy and told supporters in (the
northeastern state of)Pennsylvania that McCain's policies will not work.
McCain holds a rally in (the midwestern state of)Iowa today(Saturday). On Friday, the Arizona senator vowed to "act quickly and
decisively" to address the economic crisis.
Meanwhile, McCain's running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, today (Saturday)
denied a report's finding that she abused her power as governor.
A bi-partisan state legislative panel concluded Friday that Palin pressured a
subordinate to fire her former brother-in-law from his state police job. But
the report also concluded that Palin was within her rights to fire that
subordinate.
