외무부는 20일 파키스탄이 북한 등, 다른 나라들에 핵탄두 설계도를 넘겨줬다는 의혹을 부인했습니다.

미국 과학국제안보연구소 (ISIS)의 데이비드 올브라이트 소장이
최근 그같은 의혹을 제기한데 따른 것입니다. 올브라이트 소장은 파키스탄의 핵 과학자 압둘 카디르 칸 박사가
핵탄두 설계도를 다른 나라들에 판매했을 가능성을 주장했습니다. 설계도는 스위스에서 칸 박사의 핵밀매 조직과
연계된 컴퓨터에서 발견됐습니다.
미국 주재 파키스탄 대사관의 나딤 키아니 대변인은 칸 박사에 대한 모든 수사는 종료됐으며 파키스탄은 칸 박사의 조직과 연관된 설계도에 대해 모른다고 말했습니다. 키아니 대변인은 파키스탄의 이같은 입장을 미국의 “USA 투데이” 신문에 20일 실린 기고문에서 밝혔습니다.
칸 박사는 지난 17일 자신이 핵탄두 설계도를 다른 나라들에 넘겨줬다는 의혹을 부인했습니다.
올해 72살인 칸 박사는 파키스탄의 핵 개발 책임자로 지난 '90년대 북한을 오가며 농축 우라늄 기술을 유출한 장본인으로 알려졌습니다.
칸 박사는 북한과 이란, 리비아에 핵 기술을 전수한 사실을 시인한 지난 2004년 부터 가택연금돼 있습니다.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry is
denying allegations that foreign countries had access to its blueprint for a
compact nuclear weapon.
Today's (Friday's) statement is in response to accusations by U.N. arms
inspector David Albright. Albright alleged this week that Pakistan's disgraced
nuclear scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan, sold blueprints for a small nuclear bomb.
The blueprints were discovered on a Swiss computer linked to Khan's smuggling
network.
A spokesman for the Pakistan's embassy in Washington D.C. (Nadeem Kiani) says
all investigations into Khan are closed and that Pakistan has no knowledge of
the blueprints linked to his network. Kiani outlined Pakistan's stance in an
editorial published today (Friday) in the U.S. newspaper "U.S.A.
Today."
Khan on Tuesday denied
he was the source of the nuclear designs.
The nuclear scientist has been under house arrest in Pakistan since he
confessed in 2004 to passing nuclear secrets to Iran, North Korea and Libya.
