이라크 당국자는 바드다드 동부 사드르 시 인근에서 발생한 시아파 마흐디 민병대와 미군과 이라크군과의 전투로 적어도 8명이 사망하고 42명이 부상을 입었다고 밝혔습니다.
이라크 경찰과 병원 관계자는 27일 이번 전투로 사망한 사람 가운데는 여성 1명과 2명의 어린이가 포함돼 있다고 밝혔습니다.
한편 26일 오전 이라크 북부 지역인 모술 시에서 폭탄이 터져 적어도 두 명의 민간인이 사망하고 40여명이 부상을 입었습니다.
미군 관계자는 반군들은 폭발물을 가득 실은 차량이 모술에 있는 이라크 군 부대로 돌진해 들어와 폭탄을 터뜨렸다고 밝혔습니다.
같은 날인26일 이라크의 안보 담당관은 바그다드 서쪽 지역에서는 자살 폭탄 차량이 폭발해 2명이 사망하고 8명이 부상을 입었다고 전했습니다.

Iraqi officials say at least eight people have been killed and 42 others wounded in overnight fighting in (eastern) Baghdad's Sadr City neighborhood.
Police and hospital officials said today (Sunday) that a woman and two children were among those killed in the clashes between Shiite Mahdi Army militiamen and U.S. and Iraqi forces.
Earlier Saturday, at least two civilians were killed and more than 40 people wounded in bomb blasts in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The U.S. military says insurgents drove vehicles full of explosives up to Iraqi Army posts in two Mosul neighborhoods and detonated the bombs.
Also Saturday, Iraqi security officials said a suicide car bomber struck a neighborhood patrol in (the Amariya neighborhood in) western Baghdad, killing two people and wounding eight.
