올림픽 성화는 일본의 수도 도쿄에 도착한 뒤, 곧바로 삼엄한 경계 속에 내일 성화 봉송행사가 치러지는 일본 북부 도시 나가노로 옮겨졌습니다.
일본 당국은 만일의 사태에 대비해 수천명의 경찰관들을 성화 봉송 구간에 배치할 계획입니다.

The official flame for the Beijing Summer Olympics has arrived in Japan ahead of Saturday's torch relay.
A plane carrying the flame arrived today (Friday) at a Tokyo airport. It was immediately taken under heavy security to the northern city of Nagano, the site of the torch relay. Nagano hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics.
Thousands of police officers will be deployed along the relay route to prevent any incidents. Chinese residents and pro-Tibetan activists plan to demonstrate during the relay.
Japan's chief Cabinet spokesman (Nobutaka Machimura) is appealing for calm, saying the event can take place in an atmosphere "where everyone can celebrate."
Last week, a Japanese Buddhist temple announced its refusal to serve as the starting point for the torch relay as originally planned.
