중국 당국으로부터 홍콩 입항을 거부당한 바 있는 미국의 키티호크 항공모함이 며칠 안에 홍콩에 도착합니다.
홍콩 주재 미국 영사관 대변인은 키티호크 항공모함과6척의 지원함들에 승선한7천명의 미 해군이 홍콩에 머물 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
키티호크 항공모함은 지난 해 11월 홍콩에 입항할 예정이었으나, 중국 정부가 갑자기 키티호크의 중국 영해 진입을 금지해 선수를 돌려야 했습니다. 이 사건이 있은 후 올해 들어 미국 군함 두 척이 홍콩을 방문한 바 있습니다.

The U.S. aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk will dock in Hong Kong within the next few days, five months after it was denied entry by China.
A spokesman for the U.S. consulate in Hong Kong says seven-thousand sailors from the carrier and six support ships will make the port call.
The carrier group was scheduled to arrive in the Chinese territory last November until it was informed that Beijing would not let it enter its waters. The decision was later reversed, but the vessels were already on their way back to their home ports.
Thousands of U.S. sailors were unable to meet with family members who had flown to Hong Kong to celebrate the American holiday of Thanksgiving.
Since the Kitty Hawk incident, two U.S warships have visited Hong Kong this year.
